Week beginning 26th November 2018
Hola Amigos! Thank you to everyone who came to our Year 5 assembly! We have thoroughly enjoyed our learning during our topic 'Hola Mexico' and we hope you liked hearing about it.
In English, we have continued to work on our myths, thinking carefully about the problems our main characters will face and how they will solve them. We have been very reflective when editing our work too.
At the start of the week, we had a taster karate lesson. Look at our previous blog post for videos of this!
As mathematicians, we have been focusing on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. We mastered this quickly - many of us completing more than one challenge each lesson!
In Science, we have begun investigating the irreversible reaction between cola and mentos.
We noticed that the reaction was quite as large as we expected with a small quantity. We couldn't resist using the whole bottle outside!
As you can see, Miss Argyle got a bit wet!
We used what we have discovered to create our own investigations next week, thinking carefully about what variables we could change and the effect this might have on the reaction.

I love the photo out on the playground. The expression on the childrens faces is magical.
